Bringing the community together to create a better life for autistic individuals

NFAR partners with organizations to achieve a shared goal of improving the lives of autistic individuals and their families so they can thrive!

For the past 20 years, NFAR has supported initiatives each year that create or expand opportunities and bring new solutions to our community. Funding for these programs is made possible by the annual Race for Autism. Community Project Grant Programs span from early treatment programs, friend clubs, social skills classrooms, peer mentor groups, theater and improv. programs, sports camps, family camps, music therapy, martial arts, social skills training, driving instruction, vocational training, parent resources and education, peer mentor programs, and many more.

Each year, funds raised by the Race for Autism help to support autism programs and new initiatives in our community. To date, NFAR has supported 140 Community Project initiatives, increasing the learning, social, training and employment opportunities for neurodivergent individuals in San Diego.

For 2026, we received many outstanding applications, reflecting the incredible work being done throughout our community for the benefit of autistic individuals and their families. After a highly competitive review process, we are pleased to announce the awardees of the 2026 Community Project Grants Program
