Kinder Boot Camp – A kindergarten readiness group for children with autism (8 total sessions).

Hi Fives – A social skills group for children with ASD at or around 5 years of age. Goals include: reciprocity in social interactions, flexibility in play, negotiating, joint decision making and making new friends.

LINC’d (Listen, Interact, Negotiate, Cooperate) - A co-ed social skills group for children with autism  between 7-9 years of age. Objectives  include: learn about the components of friendship, learn to listen to, negotiate and cooperate with others, maintain reciprocal interactions, increase frustration tolerance and learn how to deal wtih teasing and bullying.

Girl Talk – a social skills group serving girls with autism spectrum disorders between 8-10 or 10-12 years of age.

Meet Up – a co-ed social skills group for children with autism spectrum disorders between 8-10 or 10-12 years of age. 

PEERS – a social skills group for teens with autism Spectrum Disorders. PEERS (Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relationship Skills) providing teems with the tools needed for building and maintaining positive friendships. PEERS also includes a parent group to equip families in assisting their teem with social relationship.

Addie’s AutismFITT Club has many summer programs that keep children engaged and excited for therapy!

OT Stand Up Paddle Boarding at the bayside of Pacific Beach, happens every Friday. Stand up paddle boarding is a great way to build core strength.

Aquatic Therapy at Addie’s AutismFITT Club Mission Valley location. Aquatic therapy is one of many strategies to more effectively work with children of varying diagnoses including autism.

Hip Hop Dance Therapy at Addie’s AutismFITT Club Mission Valley and Chula Vista location. Hip hop dance therapy provides rich sensory/motor experiences. Dance therapy’s calming and relaxing effects also help children with special needs to control and regulate their emotions while engaging in a typical, age-appropriate recreational activity with other children. 

Jazz Funk Dance classes for all children Monday-Saturday and Jazz Funk Dance Therapy class on Mondays at Addie’s AutismFITT’s Chula Vista location. Jazz funk is a fusion of hip-hop and jazz.

Feeding Groups are every Tuesday and Thursday at Mission Valley. .

 AUTISM SOCIETY OF AMERICA

Ages 5 - adult

Camp I Can­ -Camp I CAN (Camp Including Children with Autism Now) is designed and operated exclusively for kids and teens on the autism spectrum. Camp I CAN is held at two locations: Toby Wells YMCA (Kearny Mesa) and Ecke YMCA (Carlsbad) - NOW FULL. The staff to camper ratio is low to insure maximum safety and optimize participation.

Camp includes daily field trips to places such as Boomers, Knott’s Soak City, Legoland, Chuck E. Cheese, Belmont Park and more. There will be swimming at the YMCA pool throughout the week.

Camps are Monday through Friday from 9am-3pm. Camp cost is $225 per week for Autism Society San Diego members, $275 per week for non-members. Financial assistance is available for eligible members.

Surf Camp La Jolla Shores - open to San Diego County residents 5 years and older. Membership in the SDASA, and proof of diagnosis is required for enrollment. Camp begins July 6th for 7 consecutive weeks. Each camper is paired with a one-on-one aide who is experienced with persons with autism and surfing.

ARC OF SAN DIEGO

The Arc of San Diego's traditional resident summer camp for children, teens, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities offers a relaxing week at a local residential camp. Days are filled with swimming, hiking, sports, field trips, sing-a-longs, talent shows, dances, arts & crafts, and carnivals. Staff to camper ratios are based on each individual's needs, but do not exceed a 1:5 ratio.

CAMP IVEY

Ages 7 -22

Camp Ivey offers the chance to learn all about horses this summer. Learn safety, handling, grooming, tacking and riding. Camp includes additional instruction in ground-training, humane education with small animals and reptiles, as well as feeding, housing and daily care of horses.

Enrollment is limited to 21 children a week divided by age appropriate groups: 7-10, 11-13 and 14-17. The curriculum consists of a rotation through horseback riding, ground training and humane education.

CAMP JAYCEE

CAMP ONWARD

Camp Onward is a fun social skills day program for teens with Asperger's Syndrome. We ride horses, build gardens, pour stepping stones, tie-dye, cook, and learn social skills just by hanging out.

Friends Camp - July 8 - Aug 8, 2015. This program offers children on the Autism Spectrum the experience of a day camp that has been modified to their needs. It provides a socially structured environment designed to explore and develop various aspects of social success in a safe and enjoyable setting. They will participate in activities like day at the beach surfing, playing at the park, and various field trips in northern San Diego.

 Jr. Friends Club- This club is a social learning group and is for ages 3-6. It is designed to help your child develop social skills in a structured, safe and enjoyable environment with peers.  The group is one hour long and offered on Wednesday afternoons during the summer.

CYT San Diego also offers an overnight camp for ages 13-18 years.

Christian Youth Theater (CYT) - CYT Musical Theater Summer Camp is one of the most affordable quality musical theatre camps in California. Campers are placed on a team (red, green, blue etc). In the morning, they rotate with their team to a variety of theater classes including dance, drama & voice taught by qualified instructors. After lunch, summer campers play exciting outdoor games before they come together with all the teams for showcase rehearsal. All campers perform in the musical theater showcase for family and friends at the end of the week, featuring a variety of songs, dances and drama.

EASTER SEALS CAMP

Easter Seals Camp Oakes - a week-long residential camp serving children and adults with disabilities in the San Bernardino Mountains. It is held at Camp Oakes, an accredited American Camping Association site. -Sunday, August 2 through Saturday, August 8, 2015. -Camp elevation is 7,300 feet. -The fee is $750.

The camp is co-ed and campers must have some communication skills. -The counselor to camper ratio is approximately 1:2. -Campers stay in dormitories or 3-sided cabins. -Restrooms and showers are available. -A registered nurse is on 24-hour duty.

POVA THERAPEUTIC RIDING CENTER

PoVa is located on the pristine grounds of Creek Road Ranch, which is conveniently situated in a picturesque valley at the very south-west end of Poway. Working with some very special horses and a dedicated group of volunteers, we are able to offer private and semi-private lessons to children and adults with disabilities. Our lessons are taught both in the riding arena as well as along the trails that meander throughout the property. LEGO® Based Therapy, ages 6 to 17 - Lego Based Therapy is an innovative, research based, therapeutic social program using the LEGO® system. Participants will collaborate on building sets, freestyle projects and make short "LegoMation" stop action films.

Middle School Confidential, Grades 6 to 8 - Kids will learn the hidden rules for middle school, explore the Friendship PeerAMid, discuss how social expectations change with age, and learn and practice strategies for working successfully as part of a group.

Teens Program, Grades 9 - 12 - Teen groups will learn the dos and don'ts of social media, how to develop and maintain friendships and will improve their executive functioning skills by planning their own group outings (pre-approved by the therapist and parents of course).

THERAPEUTIC APPROACH TO GROWTH (TAG)

 

Preschool Program: M/W/F 9am-12pm. June 15th - July 31st

RDI based program focused on building competence and engaging in meaningful activities. Peer will be working and interacting in small groups to foster emotional connections and to create lasting memories.

RDI Summer Camp: Mon - Thu 9am-2pm. August 3rd - 6th

Participants will engage in hands-on projects, outdoor group games, collaborative experiences, and sensory motor challenges. Camp staff will guide the group through new experiences and build on competence.

RDI and OT Extender Programs (Available upon request)

Extender programs are designed to be a natural extension of the ongoing RDI and/or OT programs. The extenders are trained and supervised by the child's RD’ consultant and/or occupational therapist to address and expand their current goals.

VISTA HILL/

STEIN EDUCATION CENTER

 

 

Vista Hill Special Care Services - We offer facility based summer day care and respite services to individuals with a wide range of abilities, between the ages of 5 - 25 years. We are a service that is largely funded through the San Diego Regional Center (SDRC), however, parents can choose to pay for services out of pocket as well, if they do not have SDRC services.

Our activities address social and interpersonal skill development (peer awareness, turn taking, sharing) and local community based instruction (street safety, etc.). Activities include table games (puzzles, board games, manipulatives, etc), cooking projects, music groups, arts and crafts, community walks and local outings. We provide a 1:3 staff to student ratio.

XCITESTEPS

Ages 3 - young adult

Offering programs and summer camps that cater to kids and teens with developmental or cognitive challenges such as Asperger's Syndrome, high functioning autism, and PDD-NOS, etc. Camps offer fun sports, recreational activities and exciting community outings to help inspire and develop friendships.
